The device is a smart digital tester designed to evaluate the performance of Residual Current Devices (RCD). It features a large backlit LCD display, a robust build, and a user-friendly interface. Driven by a micro-processing controller, the device measures trip time and trip current with high precision.
1. Technical Specifications
- RCD Measurement Range: Supports currents (10mA, 20mA, 30mA, 100mA, 300mA, 500mA).
- Operating Voltage: Designed for single-phase circuits (195V to 253V, 50Hz).
- AC Voltage Measurement: 30V to 600V (45Hz - 65Hz).
- Trip Time Accuracy: ±(2%+2).
- Test Modes (Multipliers): x1/2 (non-trip), x1 (standard trip), x5 (fast trip), and AUTO RAMP.
- Phase Angle Selection: 0° or 180°.
2. Key Features
- AUTO RAMP: Gradually increases current to find the exact tripping point.
- Connections Check: Displays wiring status (L-N, L-PE, N-PE) via on-screen icons.
- Data Hold: Automatically retains results after testing.
- LCD Backlight: For reading in dark environments.
- Audible Alerts: Alarm for incorrect operation or RCD tripping.
- Safety and Protection: CAT III 600V rated with internal fuses.
- Auto Power Off: Preserves battery life.
3. How to Use
Connection: Install 6 x 1.5V AA batteries and connect test leads (Red for L, Green for E, Blue for N).
Circuit Check: Plug into the socket. Proceed only if the screen displays "OK".
Test Settings: Select the test current, multiplier mode, and phase angle.
Start Test: Press the TEST button. The device will measure and display the Trip Time in milliseconds (ms).
Auto Ramp Test: Select this mode to measure both trip current and trip time simultaneously.
4. Package Contents
UT582+ device, Test leads, Cloth carrying bag, Shoulder strap, Instruction manual.
Note: Intended for single-phase (230V) systems only. Avoid prolonged continuous use to prevent overheating.
